FEB 21, 2009 - Storybook Curves (72)

I like this photo, because it is the first time I, consciously, followed the rule of thirds as I was composing. I didn't have to crop it. Unsharp mask is all. You know I'm the ready to add a cloud or two, but not this time. They were real :)

  1. I can see the castle in the far background! Perfect for the themes (and would be a great fairy tale picture!

  2. Great composition with that lone tree smack dab at the intersection of one of the thirds. The curves are really nice and the sky is perfect.

  3. Great picture.I agree with Chesney, you can imagine a knight on horseback or a dragon suddenly appearing.

  4. I see the knight on horseback, too. I really like this one.

and, maybe I shouldn't be following a photography blog if I don't know what the rule of thirds is, but I dont.

  5. I don't see a castle and I know nothing about thirds, but it is a great picture.

  6. Linda the composer, when will we see your next opus maestro. Well done I didn't think you were the kind to obey rules.

  7. You are making me long to see the curvy, rolling foothills of California's central coast again...........................

Beautiful image here, Linda, and the clouds are indeed just perfect the way they are. I'm glad you left them to mother nature....

  9. Very well shot and composed! I agree about the clouds; adding some might take away from the nice roll of the hills.
